Ukraine’s military says Russia lost about 2,500 troops on 1 November, which RBC-Ukraine describes as the highest single-day figure since the full-scale invasion began. In its latest update the military gives a total of about 1,594,830 Russian personnel lost since 24 February 2022, including 2,060 in the most recent report.
Ukrainian reporting also says Russian forces used a humanitarian corridor in Oleshky for military purposes, including rotating units, strengthening positions and improving anti-drone defences and ammunition supplies. Sky News is reported to have monitored the evacuation from the air and described similar tactics.
Reporting note: these are claims by one side in the war and are not independently verified.
